Fun at the St. Paddy’s Day Parade

The GFWC NMBWC collaborated with the North Strand Optimist Club and shared a float in the City of North Myrtle Beach’s 2017 St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

The float featured a rainbow balloon arch with pots of gold and a live leprechaun played by club member Tasha Savage’s funny, talented husband, John, who also engineered the sound system which blasted out some fantastic beach music.

Club members were all decked out in their best Irish attire and passed out more than 10,000 pieces of candy and lots of beads to parade attendees. Kelly Brown, St. Paddy’s Day Project Chairperson, commented, “We had a great time. It is always a blast to do this parade. I’d like to thank all those members who participated. Let’s do it again next year!”
