Fundraising is an integral part of club membership. Each year we contribute our time and talents to raise funds for charitable causes and organizations. Visit our Contributions Page to see our 2014 donations. Our fundraisers include the following.
Purses with Purpose Charity Event: (April) The North Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club hosts this event each year at Marina Inn Grande Dunes. The club collects purses and hand bags from celebrities.
In 2013, the club received 22 purses from local celebrities including North Myrtle Beach’s very own Vanna White and the adorable Dolly Parton. In 2014, Jennifer Garner and Louise Mandrell donated gorgeous handbags to the event. The handbags are auctioned in both live and silent auctions. In the live auction, local male models showcase the handbags by strutting around the dance floor with their purses. They work hard to entice the ladies to bid on their favorite purse. It is quite a show and a lot of fun. Attendees also win door prizes, enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres and live musical entertainment.
Business sponsors receive recognition before and during the event while their sponsorships help defray some of the cost of the event. In 2014 over 300 ladies packed the Marina Inn Ballroom and raised $50,000 for charities. Read more about our 2014 event.

Christmas Candlelight Tour of Homes: (December) Since 1992 the NMBWC has sponsored an annual Christmas Tour of Homes. In 2014, we hosted a candlelight tour of five homes in the North Myrtle Beach area. This is one of our larger fundraisers of the year. Local homeowners graciously open their decorated homes for viewing during the holiday season. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased in advance at the NMB Chamber of Commerce or from any club member. Proceeds from the event go to local charities.
Our 2014 candlelight tour saw over 300 hundred attendees and raised $10,000 for local charities. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or in opening your home for our 2015 holiday tour, please contact our club.
